I have had the pleasure of holding two Thrive's in my hands and setting them up for people I work with. I find myself wanting one of these tablets if for no other reason then you can open the back and remove the battery and place a second better inside.. That is only one small reason, This tablet feels good. Picking up the tablet for the first time one thinks hmmm a little heavy compared to other tablets.

5 minutes holding this tablet and jumping from one app to another you forget that it is a little heavy "comparatively" "a little thicker" and you start finding yourself enjoying holding this beautiful device and not wanting to give it back to the owner, yes I have Thrive on my mind, I have Thrive on my list of next tablets.

Someone who has played with many different tablets will tell you, 5 minutes and you can tell when hardware is exciting. Remember when you saw that first muscle car and looked under the hood? or When you placed your hand on that first stainless steel Fridge and opened both doors to find a work of art inside? Yes I use the term work of art. for this tablet can be described as many things, and deservedly so. But work of art is one way of saying, I like this tablet very much. Kind of gets into the blood and flows around your brain until you just have to have one...

I just bought a Toshiba Thrive and I just received it this weekend. I could not connect to my E2500 linksys router. I have been researching and I have read that if you have WPA/WPA 2 security setting the tablet won't be able to connect. Has anyone had that problem and been able to get it working? I don't know if I should be posting this question in this topic, but I just registered on this forum to get some questions answered about the thrive.

Thanks :-)

I use E4200V1 with two RE1000V1 from Cisco and have not issues connecting to the WiFi Router with my two thrives.

Mine is a mix network for 802.11g @ 20MHz and 802.11n @ 40MHz.
WPA2 is use. When last have you updated your Cisco WiFi Router. Go to Cisco Linksys site and see if you have update for firmware (ROM).

Make sure you save all your data settings before you update your router.

Sorry for the late reply. So I updated the router I have (Linksys E2500) from Version 1.0.03 to 1.0.04. After I updated the router I still could not connect to the internet. The thrive says it's connect but when I open up the browser it never loads the page. I have WPA 2 for security. I changed the router channel and the frequency for the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz to see if that would work and it still didn't. I then changed the security settings to WEP and tried that but it still did not work. So then I disable my security to be open network and the tablet connected but the webpage never loads. Prior to this I did a factory reset on the thrive. So basically I can't still use my Thrive. I did buy it refurbished so I'm thinking whatever the problem was toshiba didn't do a good job fixing. I have a 90 day warranty on it so I will send it to Toshiba and see if they can figure out what the problem is. Maybe the hardware is damaged.
